Melanie Muñoz is the Manager of Strategic Partnerships at The Kaleidoscope Group (KG), a consulting firm dedicated to providing organizations with strategies and solutions for diversity and inclusion. She develops relationships with external alliance partners, platforms, and associations. This allows her to help establish new avenues for servicing clients and innovative solutions to bring to market. Alongside developing the partnership sector of the firm, Melanie also serves as a Senior Consultant and facilitator by providing strategic guidance, development, and facilitating educational workshops on various topics regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Throughout her time at KG, she served a wide variety of clients across a number of industries. Some of the clients that she has had the pleasure of supporting in their DEI efforts include Major League Baseball (MLB), Milwaukee Brewers, Discover Financial, Museum of Science and Industry, Ulta Beauty, University of Chicago Booth and Capital One.
Melanie is an innovative leader who values thinking and creating for the future. She is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion because she has experienced being in various environments and making the decision to not accept the given circumstances— as reality. One thing that she enjoys, is the challenge of meeting new people and developing a connection with them.
Aside from her role at KG, Melanie serves as the President for Prospanica Chicago, an association dedicated to increasing the number of Latinos graduating with MBAs, sourcing leadership positions, securing job placement, and enhancing professional development. Her involvement has allowed her to raise funds for Latinx advancement programs and lead Prospanica’s annual Summer Enrichment Program providing professional development and college readiness for Black and Latino high school students in the Chicagoland area.
Melanie serves as the Professional Industry Leader at People Church Chicago. As the Professionals Ministry Leader, she leads a ministry of over 400 faith-based Chicago young professionals with an interest in personal development and building community.
She participated as a speaker for the 2016 College Diversity Summit with the Illinois Diversity Council, Chicago Booth MBA Women’s Day, Loyola university Baumhart Center Scholars Program, and University of Toledo’s Multicultural Graduation Keynote Speaker. She volunteered as a Young Professionals Board Member for the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE). Currently, she volunteers as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coach with The Forum on Workplace Inclusion.
Through Negocios Now, a Chicago-based publication, Melanie was featured in Chicago’s 40 Latinos Under 40. She also received the “Power of the Future Award” from The Forum on Workplace Inclusion.
Melanie received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Toledo and her Master of Arts degree in Psychology with a focus on Diversity and Inclusion Leadership from Cleveland State University. She is also a certified Diversity and Inclusion Practitioner. When she is not working with KG, she enjoys volunteering as a mentor and DEI leader in her church community, salsa dancing, traveling abroad, and reading. Melanie lives in Chicago, IL.
