I wake up every morning and ask myself: what positive difference can I make in the world today? How can I help to encourage diversity, improve equity, build inclusion, and enhance belonging? I’ve learned that it’s by listening more and talking less. By putting ‘we’ before ‘me’. By looking at the world with an open heart and mind, seeking to understand the fault lines simmering beneath the surface in every sphere of life. And then by targeting where I can make the most impact, based on my personal skillset. That means starting conversations, changing hearts and minds, persuading and influencing people – at both the individual and organizational levels.

Oliver Daniels is Global Business Development Consultant for The Kaleidoscope Group, with a professional background that is almost as diverse as his cultural and ethnic heritage. His mission is to help KG expand its global reach, enabling the transformational change that realizes our vision of unity.

Born in Guyana, Oliver’s parents emigrated to the United Kingdom when he was two. Growing up in London, one of the most diverse cities in the world, he graduated in English Literature from the Royal Holloway University of London. Those formative years were instrumental in shaping his understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Oliver’s natural affinity for the written word led him to Copywrite, where he spent eight fruitful years learning and applying the principles of marketing. A desire to help people more directly propelled him into customer success for a time. From there his ability to understand and improve processes and systems made him a natural fit for operations, emphasizing service excellence, supply chain management, talent development, and improved organizational effectiveness.

Having almost completed the “grand tour” of organizational functions, it was only a matter of time before Oliver found himself in business development. He first specialized in selling gender diversity employer solutions before finding what he calls his “natural home” at KG. Here he applies everything he has learned from both his professional and lived experience to further the causes of DE&I.
