Margarita De Leon
During her more than 25 years as a Consultant with The Kaleidoscope Group, Margarita has served a wide variety of clients across several industries, including the arts & entertainment, healthcare and science, education and financial services. She leads clients through change programs, provides assessment and insights on organizations’ DEI journeys, designs, and delivers education. She also advises on practices, policies ,and procedures to create inclusive cultures.
In addition to leading clients through major change programs, Margarita has experience in diversity training facilitation, nonprofit development, corporate communications, publishing, fundraising, and public service.
Before joining The Kaleidoscope Group in 1988, she founded IMAGE of Northwest Ohio, a local chapter of a US Latino advocacy organization, establishing the annual Diamante Awards and scholarship program the following year. She continues to be associated with the organization raising over $1M dollars (US) and providing over 30 scholarships annually in northwest Ohio through endowments at four universities. She was also the publisher of BRAVO Magazine, Ohio’s first Hispanic magazine, introduced in 1997.
She has received many professional and community service awards over her lifetime, including being an inaugural member of the University of Toledo’s Diversity Wall of Honor in April 2021. That same year, Consulting Magazine recognized her as one of the Top 25 Consultants in the country. She is also a a coach, having completed her coursework through CTI (Co-Active Training Institute), which has trained over 130,000 leaders worldwide.
Margarita was the founding member of LatinoFest of Northwest Ohio, the Ohio Latino Arts Association, and the Latino Alliance of Northwest Ohio. Margarita holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s from Bowling Green State University and an MBA from The University of Toledo. Outside work, she enjoys walking, cycling, cooking, yoga, and spending time with her grandchildren.
