Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) functions have grown exponentially in organizations since 2019. Since then, organizations have implemented various programs aimed at creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces where everyone can feel included and that they belong. All with the aim of not only improving the employee experience, but also bottom-line results. However, it can be difficult to actually measure the impact and value of DEI within organizations. This paper explores the barriers to measuring the impact and value of DEI and the best practices to overcome them. Further, a framework is provided for organizations looking to measure their DEI efforts’ efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes.
