Dan is passionate about his role as a facilitator for the Kaleidoscope Group. With thirteen years of experience in the education field, and as a clinical social worker, Dan has partnered with students and families to navigate challenging situations, reach their potential, and accomplish their goals. He has collaborated with key stakeholders to develop and implement Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) initiatives that address school culture. Additionally, he coaches staff and faculty to design a more inclusive curriculum and classrooms. Dan’s calm and approachable demeanor allows people to comfortably share their personal D&I journeys, providing an opportunity for honest conversation and continued growth. Dan carries this approach to his work with KG, consistently engaging with clients to understand their specific D&I needs and offering genuine, actionable feedback so they can accomplish their goals.

Dan’s passion for inclusive, equitable education extends beyond the United States. He serves as the Board President of a non-profit, RISE International, that constructs schools in rural Angola, Africa. The mission of RISE International is to build, educate, and empower—a theme that unites Dan’s roles as an educator, facilitator, and non-profit leader.

Dan holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degrees in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied the social and personal impacts of race, gender, class, and other dimensions of diversity.

In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, gardening, and sharing meals with family and friends. He finds peace in playing music with his band and paddleboarding on Lake Michigan.
